[ARCHIVED] Upcoming PG&E Gas Safety Work

Upcoming Gas Safety Work

Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) is working with the Town of Corte Madera to help ensure first responders have immediate access to natural gas transmission pipelines in case of an emergency. When trees, large bushes, and other items are located too close to the gas transmission pipeline, they can block first responders from quickly and safely accessing the pipeline when every second counts. PG&E has identified trees and bushes on both public and private property throughout the community that are located near the pipeline and need to be removed for safety reasons. PG&E is working closely with property owners to review these items and develop tailored solutions that meet their needs while preserving the beauty of the area and keeping the community safe. This can include planting new trees at a safe distance from the pipeline and restoring the area with native, drought tolerant landscaping.

This upcoming gas safety work is scheduled to begin the week of January 30, and will take approximately two weeks to complete. Work will be conducted between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. and will begin west of Redwood Hwy and on Simon Ranch Road, and then along Paradise Drive and Madera Del Presidio Drive. Please be aware there may be minor traffic delays due to partial lane closures.
