Tamalpais Drive Complete Streets Project


The Tamalpais Drive Complete Streets Project will go before the Town Council for approval of the plans and specifications, authorization to bid the project, and approval of a supplemental appropriation on Tuesday, December 6th. This project will construct improvements to provide safe access and mobility for motorists, pedestrians, bicyclists, and public transportation users of Tamalpais Drive from Madera Boulevard to Redwood Avenue and continuing on Redwood Avenue to Corte Madera Avenue. The specific improvements the project will construct include: rapid flashing beacons at Chapman Drive, Sausalito Street, and Lakeside Drive, bulb outs, upgrade of handicap ramps, narrowing of travel lanes, installation of bicycle lanes, replacement of crosswalk pavement, narrowing of parking lanes including striping of parking spots, yield striping and advance warning striping and signage, other additional striping and signage, and slurry sealing of the full width of the Tamalpais Drive and Redwood Avenue corridor from Madera Boulevard to Corte Madera Avenue. The project is planned to be constructed in spring 2017.


The Town Council Meeting will be held in the Council Chambers at 300 Tamalpais Drive, Corte Madera, and starts at 7:30 pm. The staff report is available on the Town website. The plans and specification are available for review at the Public Works Engineering Department.
