Sanitary District No. 2 commenced construction of the Paradise West Sewer Improvements Project on June 27, 2016, and the project will continue for 8 months.
The project includes replacing 1900 feet of sewer line along Paradise Drive from Golden Hind Passage to Upupanda Way (Marin County Day School entrance), sewer line on Westward Drive from Paradise Drive to 108 feet south, and sewer line on Prince Royal Passage from Paradise Drive to 255 feet south. In the Paradise Shopping Center, sewer line will be replaced from Paradise Drive to 145 feet south. Upstream (or south) of that portion, the sewer will be cured in place pipe (CIPP) lined for 135 feet. The sewer line from 1595 Casa Buena Drive to 1585 Casa Buena Drive, and the sewer line from 1585 Casa Buena Drive to Paradise Drive under the 101 Freeway will be also be CIPP lined. Other improvements of the project include improving and reconnecting lower laterals. And, some manholes will be replaced or lined. All sewer replacements will require open trenching.
Most of the work for the project will take place Monday through Friday morning from 8:15 AM to 5:00 PM. The contractor completed the work along Paradise Drive from Golden Hind Passage to Upupanda Way at the end of August, and the work on Westward Drive in September. The next segment of work will be on Prince Royal Passage from Paradise Drive to 300 feet south. Construction will start on October 27th, and we plan for it to be complete by November 21st.
Traffic and pedestrian control will be in place for public safety. Lane closures may be required; motorists should expect a delay. Bicycle and pedestrian access will be addressed.
