The Corte Madera Town Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 6:30PM in the Interim Town Council Chambers, 240 Tamal Vista Blvd., #108, Corte Madera, to discuss and consider the adoption of a Resolution finding no objection to a proposed 5.11% rate increase requested by Mill Valley Refuse Service, Inc (MVRS) for the delivery of solid waste collection and recycling services from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.

The nine jurisdictions who contract for refuse service through MVRS engaged the services of a third-party consultant, R3 Consulting Group, Inc., to conduct a formal review and evaluation of MVRS’s rate increase application. R3 concluded that the basis for MVRS’s request required adjustments for residential services, projections of 2023-24 commercial rate revenues and the migration impact on the rate. R3 adjusted MVRS’s requested rate increase from 4.31% to the newly proposed 5.11% after taking into account R3’s recommended corrections.

The R3 review of MVRS’s 2023-2024 Rate Application along with the Original MVRS Rate Application dated April 3, 2023 and the R3 revisions to the Rate Application can be viewed in full here
