[ARCHIVED] Town Council Election Notices: Candidate Filing Deadline Extended / Ballot Measure Notice

Are you interested in running for election to serve on the Corte Madera Town Council? The application period for the November 8, 2022 Municipal Election opened on Monday, July 18th. Notice is given that the filing period for Town Council candidates has been extended through 5:00pm on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, for non-incumbent filers only, as at least one current office-holder with an expiring term has chosen not to file for re-election by the August 12th filing deadline.  Candidates for Town Council must be a resident of Corte Madera, at least 18 years of age and a registered voter in the Town of Corte Madera at the time nomination papers are issued.

Notice of Ballot Measure and Submittal Dates for Ballot Arguments

In addition, the Town Council will submit to the voters the following question: 

"To maintain rapid 9-1-1 emergency response times and preserve the number of on-duty paramedics ready to respond to accidents/medical emergencies, shall the measure continuing the paramedic services special tax for four years at an annual amount of $78 per residence and per 1,000 square feet of floor area for nonresidential uses for fiscal years 2023-2024, and thereafter increased $3 per year up to $87, generating approximately $504,400 annually for local paramedic services, subject to annual audits and public spending disclosure, be adopted?"
