On Tuesday, July 6, 2022, the Corte Madera Town Council held a Special Closed Session to discuss the Town’s leadership succession plan and identify a replacement for the Town Manager position. Following a thorough discussion, the Town Council unanimously selected Adam Wolff, the current Planning & Building Director, as the clear choice to fill the upcoming vacancy and lead our Town into the future. The Town Council is expected to vote to approve Adam Wolff’s contract as the Interim Town Manager at its next regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 6:30 PM.
Mayor Fred Casissa stated that the council discussed several options and unanimously agreed that Adam is the right choice for the interim town manager position. In his eight years with Corte Madera, Adam has become deeply interconnected with the residents, businesses, and community of the town. He is also respected by his peers and the town's leadership. Adam has led or been a key contributor to several important Town projects, such as the current Housing Element update and the new Corte Madera Town Hall. Adam's experience and insight into the workings of Corte Madera, are essential qualities for him to perform his new duties and the town believes he will excel in his new role. “I’m truly honored to be able to serve the Town in this new capacity and build upon the positive momentum we’ve created over the last several years with our talented team,” said Adam.
Adam Wolff was hired in 2014 as the Town’s Director of Planning and Building. During this time, Adam has demonstrated exceptional leadership and problem solving skills and has prioritized communication and public engagement. As the Town’s Planning/Building Director, Adam oversees land use and housing policy, development review, and private construction activities throughout Town. Prior to joining the Town, Adam spent almost 15 years in New York City, where he obtained a Masters in Urban Planning from Columbia University and began his career as a city planner, eventually serving as Deputy Director of New York City’s Manhattan Office at the Department of City Planning. Adam was raised in Mill Valley and is a graduate of Tamalpais High School. He currently lives in Petaluma with his wife, Alicia, and three sons.
Council member Bob Ravasio has worked with Adam since he started with the town. “He made an immediate impact with his ability to simplify extremely complex issues. And he has developed an understanding of our community that will make him successful,” said Ravasio.
