Since early June 2022, the Town's contractor, Alten Construction, has been busy preparing the existing Town Hall facility for demolition. The building demolition was slightly delayed due to an intense hazardous material abatement effort. Further geotechnical and structural investigation of the existing retaining wall also found deficiencies that required a redesign of the new building’s foundation. A plan has been revised for complete demolition of the existing building and retaining walls with mobilization starting Monday, July 18th. The slight delay in demolition should not affect critical path of the project.
New Town Hall construction will begin immediately following the demolition of the old structure and is anticipated to be completed toward the end of 2023.
