In October of 2021, the Town of Corte Madera updated the community regarding the new lease agreement between the County of Marin and Homeward Bound of Marin as the new operator of The Casa Buena, located at 1591 Casa Buena Drive. At that time, the County of Marin executed a funding agreement with Homeward Bound of Marin to perform $1,862,822 in renovations to The Casa Buena, including adding kitchenettes to each of the 18 units, and performing overall site improvements to create an improved residential environment for future residents and surrounding neighbors. Renovations are well underway and expected to continue through the spring of 2022. Once the renovations are complete, the Casa Buena will serve as permanent supportive housing, providing a place to call home to formerly homeless individuals, and offer a variety of social services for their residents.
The Town of Corte Madera, our resident working group, and Homeward Bound of Marin would like to take this opportunity to invite all Corte Madera residents and interested parties to an upcoming community meeting to meet The Casa Buena’s new operator- Homeward Bound of Marin. Members of the community will have the opportunity to meet Homeward Bound of Marin, learn about the ongoing construction project and intended operations at The Casa Buena. Homeward Bound intends to provide an overview of their operations and allow an opportunity for questions and answers and overall community engagement.

- Brief introductions from Homeward Bound’s key staff member: Mary Kay Sweeney- Executive Director, Paul Fordham- Deputy Executive Director, Colin McDonnell- Director of Housing from Chronically Homeless Adults
- Brief history/description of Homeward Bound’s permanent supportive housing programs
- Overview of The Casa Buena program operations, including construction schedule (building, outdoor landscaping and amenities), community outreach, staffing, tenant selection and leasing, on-site support services, property maintenance, Code of Conduct and good neighbor policy, and community building.
