The Council will consider authorizing the DPW Director to execute a Facility Financing Contract with Sonomarin Solar Inc. for the design and construction of solar generation & battery storage at both the Community Center and Maintenance Corporation Yard.
At its upcoming Town Council Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at 6:30PM, the Corte Madera Town Council will hold a public hearing to consider authorization of the Director of Public Works to execute a Facility Financing Contract with Sonomarin Solar Inc. for the design and construction of solar generation and battery storage at both the Community Center and Maintenance Corporation Yard.
In March, Public Works received a notification of subrecipient allocation approving FY 2020-21 Community Power Resiliency allocation in the amount of $300,000. In efforts, to streamline the implementation process, staff is proposing to proceed with a Facility Financing Contract per Government Code, Chapter 3.2, Sections 4217.10 to 4217.18, which require a public notice be given at least two weeks in advance of the public hearing, where the Town Council governing body may determine that this Facility Financing Contract is in the best interest of the public agency, in lieu of formal bidding procedures.
The proposed Facility Financing Contract with Sonomarin Solar Inc. is in the amount of $260,519.61 and includes the design and construction of solar generation and battery storage at the Corporation Yard and Community Center; and includes a 10% project contingency in the amount of $39,077.94, for a total not to exceed amount of $299,597.55.
