The Corte Madera Town Council will hold a public hearing on 6/15/21 to consider the adoption of an increase of garbage fees collected by Mill Valley Refuse Service (MVRS). The proposed rate sheets for residential and commercial terms, along with their conditions are included with the Public Hearing Notice. The proposed Rate Application and the independent review of the MVRS Application conducted by R3 Consulting, Inc. can be viewed in full here.
The nine jurisdictions who contract for refuse service through MVRS engaged the services of a third-party consultant, R3 Consulting Group, Inc., to conduct a formal review and evaluation of MVRS’s rate increase application. R3 concluded that the basis for MVRS’s request was justified, and R3 adjusted MVRS’s requested rate increase from 2.35% down to the proposed 1.19% after taking into account R3’s recommended correction to the methodology for projected cart revenue service adjustments utilized in the MVRS application. A staff report for this item will be published with the meeting agenda packet by 5PM on Friday, June 11, 2021.
