On Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 6:30pm via video conference, the Corte Madera Town Council will hold a public hearing to review information, receive public comments, and consider accepting the Town Project Report, approving the Town Hall Remodel and Addition Project and the associated Initial Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration. This project is following the new Town procedure for Town projects that was approved by the Town Council at the September 1st and 15th 2020 Town Council meetings (Ordinance #999). On October 27, 2020 the Planning Commission approved Resolution Nos. 20-011 and 20-012 recommending that the Council approve the Town Hall Project as described and documented in the Town Project Report and the associated Initial/Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration.

The Town Hall Remodel and Addition Project includes remodeling the interior and exterior of the existing two story Town Hall and an addition of approximately 7,600 sq. ft. to the east of the building toward the parking lot and landscaped area. The new, fully ADA compliant Town Hall, will be approximately 11,900 sq. ft., and would include a new public permitting center, a new council chamber/flex space with seating capacity for approximately 95 people, new offices/workspaces, and an outdoor plaza built around the existing redwood trees. The New Town Hall will contain offices for the departments of Building and Planning, Public Works Engineering, Code Enforcement, Administration and Finance, all in one building accessible from both Tamalpais Drive and the reconfigured parking lot.

A central circulation corridor including an elevator, stairway, lobby and restrooms will connect all levels of the existing building and the addition. When completed, the project is intended to create a more resilient, functional, and inviting community asset that will serve the Town for the next 50-100 years. Please see below for a project rendering.
