NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Corte Madera Planning Commission will hold a public meeting to review and possibly recommend approval of the Town Project Report and Initial Study / Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) prepared for the Town Hall Remodel and Addition Project to the Town Council. This meeting and subsequent Town Council meeting(s) are following the new Town procedure for Town projects that was approved by the Town Council at the September 1st and 15th 2020 Town Council meetings (Ordinance #999).
The Town Hall Remodel and Addition Project includes remodeling the interior and exterior to the existing two story Town Hall and an addition of approximately 7,600 sq. ft. to the east of the building toward the parking lot and landscaped area. The new, fully ADA compliant Town Hall, will be approximately 11,900 sq. ft., including a new public permitting center, a new council chamber/flex space with seating capacity for approximately 95 people, offices/workspaces, and an outdoor plaza built around the existing redwood trees. The New Town Hall will contain offices for the departments of Building and Planning, Public Works Engineering, Code Enforcement, Administration and Finance, all in one building accessible from both Tamalpais Drive and the reconfigured parking lot. A central circulation corridor including an elevator, stairway, lobby and restrooms will connect all levels of the existing building and the addition. When completed, the project is intended to create a more resilient, functional, and inviting community asset that will serve the Town for the next 50-100 years.
For additional information about prior public meetings, workshops, staff reports, presentation materials, and information regarding moving the project forward in the wake of COVID-19, please access the Town Hall Project Webpage here: https://www.townofcortemadera.org/867/Town-Hall-Project. The Town Project Report, IS/MND, response to comments on the IS/MND and supplemental materials will be posted on the Town Hall Project webpage referenced above on or before October 23, 2020.
