We continue to receive reports that gasoline-powered leaf blowers are being used by residents and contractors in Town.
We would like to remind everyone that as of March 1, 2020, the use of any gasoline-powered leaf blowers is ILLEGAL at any time within the Town. (Corte Madera Municipal Code 9.36.040 adopted November 19, 2019)
We ask that persons currently operating gasoline-powered leaf blowers discontinue their use IMMEDIATELY. Be the change and do your part to report all violators by calling Central Marin Police Authority (CMPA) at (415)927-5150 as soon as you witness anyone in Town using a leaf blower that is gasoline-powered (please note that battery or electric-powered leaf blowers can still be used. Only gas-powered leaf blowers are banned).
A violation of any provisions of Chapter 9.36 of the Municipal Code shall constitute an infraction punishable by a fine not exceeding $100 for a first violation, $200 for a second violation of the same ordinance within one year, and $500 for each additional violation of the same ordinance within one year. (Gov. Code, § 36900)
