PG&E has planned essential electrical system upgrades (More Information from PG&E News Release) in preparation for any power system safety shutoff (PSPS) that will be required in the future. The work will take place at 70 and 130 Granada Drive from June 24th to the 26th, however there will only be a power shutoff on Thursday June 25th from approximately 8am to 4pm. PG&E has indicated that the shutoff could last up to 8 hours that day and will affect up to 300 homes in the area.
The Town will be providing 7 generators placed around the neighborhood (see attached map) with power strips for residents to use during the power shutoff for charging small electronic devices such as; phones, laptops, or other essential electronics. The generators cannot be used for appliances, in particular; microwaves, refrigerators, hair dryers, etc.
When using these temporary charging stations, please comply with the County Health Ordinance by practicing social distancing and wearing a face mask.
