NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a General Municipal Election will be held in the Town of Corte Madera on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, for the purpose of electing two (2) members to the Town Council of the Town of Corte Madera, each to serve for the full term of four (4) years.
The nomination period opens Monday, July 13, 2015 and runs through Friday, August 7, 2015. The filing period will be extended to Wednesday, August 12, 2015, for non-incumbent filers only, if an incumbent does not file by the August 7th deadline. Candidates for Town Council must be a resident of Corte Madera, at least 18 years of age and a registered voter in the Town of Corte Madera at the time nomination papers are issued.
Beginning on July 13, 2015, nomination papers are available in the Administrative Office at Town Hall from Rebecca Vaughn, Town Clerk, during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00a.m. - Noon, and 1:00p.m. - 5:00p.m. Please call (415) 927-5085 for more information and to make an appointment to meet with the Town Clerk to pick up the nomination packet.
If no one or only one person is nominated for an elective office, appointment to the elective office may be made as prescribed by Section 10229 of the Election Code of the State of California.
The polls will be open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2015. Pursuant to the California Elections Code Section 12109, all ballots, including absentee ballots, shall be counted at the Marin Civic Center, Hall of Justice, Room 121, and not at the individual precincts.
