The Central Marin Fire Department has been in continuous contact with the Marin County Health and Human Services Department regarding the current state of the COVID-19 health crisis, and more importantly on what are the best practices during the Shelter at Home Order.
During this health emergency, certain activities that are deemed essential have been allowed to continue, as long as social distances of 6 feet or greater are maintained. Some of the activities that are allowed include; fire reduction work and maintaining growth along curbs or medians in order to ensure visibility along roadways for public safety.
The Town of Corte Madera and the Central Marin Fire Department are currently preparing for the 2020 Wildfire Season by reducing the amount of hazardous fuels that are located along our Primary and Secondary evacuation routes. Unfortunately, roadway widths in certain areas may require partial or full roadway closure in order to safely perform the work.
Central Marin Fire Department will be temporarily closing the intersection of Chapman Drive and Tamalpais Drive to through traffic for two (2) days starting on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 through Wednesday, April 22, 2020 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
