[ARCHIVED] Residential Parking Restrictions

Resident Parking Only

"We are beginning our fifth week of shelter-in-place and people are understandably eager to get outside and get some fresh air and exercise. We are fortunate to live in an area where trail heads are nearby and easily accessible from many of our neighborhoods. However, the Marin County Public Health Order directs that people remain in their local neighborhoods for outdoor exercise and to access trails or parks only on foot or by bicycle. That means no driving to a location to walk or hike, even if you live in the same town or city.

In order to deter the parking issues we’ve been experiencing across our communities, ‘Resident Parking Only’ signs will be posted in neighborhoods that have access to open space trail heads. These parking restrictions are in effect daily beginning April 16th through May 3rd between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm. Parking is limited to local residents only and any vehicles not registered to that particular street will be cited and/or towed at the owner’s expense.

The only exception to this parking restriction is for individuals with disabilities who need motorized access to an area. Their vehicle must have a disabled person’s placard or license plate.

We encourage walking, hiking, or biking, but please do it in your own neighborhood and maintain the six-foot distancing away from people you do not live with. Try to avoid narrow trails or areas where physical distancing is difficult.

Let’s all continue working together to flatten the curve."
