[ARCHIVED] Storing and Moving Your Garbage Receptacles

Garbage Receptacle

Dear Corte Madera Residents:

The Town has received several communications from concerned residents regarding the placement and storage of waste receptacles in and about the public right-of-way.  We would like to remind our residents that the Corte Madera Municipal Code (CMMC) states that waste receptacles shall be placed “where they will not be a public nuisance or in any degree offensive. No can or receptacle for receiving garbage shall be placed or kept in or on any public street, alley, sidewalk, footpath or any public place whatsoever.”

We would like to remind all residents that once the weekly waste collection service by Mill Valley Refuse Service is complete, all receptacles should be moved out of the public right-of-way and into a location that does not violate the CMMC.  We would appreciate your attention to this notice and adherence to our municipal code. Your cooperation will help ensure the public right-of-way is clean and clear of obstruction.

If you have any questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact our Public Works Department at 415-927-5057.

Thank you.
