[ARCHIVED] HEAT ADVISORY for Saturday, June 23, 2018

Heat-Advisory

From the National Weather Service: A robust warming trend is forecast through Saturday afternoon as high pressure builds over the region. This will lead to hot conditions on Saturday with moderate to locally high heat risks across mainly the interior. Additionally, offshore winds will develop and result in heightened fire weather concerns to portions of the region on Saturday. Cooling is then expected on Sunday with increased onshore flow.

Please note that widespread temperatures in the mid 90s to low 100s are expected. You can experience moderate to high risk of heat related illness, especially for vulnerable populations during the day Saturday.

Please be aware of critical fire weather conditions, especially in the North and East Bay hills and mountains. If you wish to review the fire preparedness information we have on our website, please click here.

Remember that a Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected. Hot temperatures will create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids...stay in an air- conditioned room...stay out of the sun...and check up on relatives and neighbors.
