[ARCHIVED] 21st Annual North Bay Firefighter's Burn Relay to Benefit Burn Survivors

Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation

The 21st Annual North Bay Firefighter’s Burn Relay to benefit burn survivors is scheduled to roll through Town on the morning of Wednesday, May 23, 2018.

The Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation (AARBF) is a California-based nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing burns and fires and providing services to those who have been affected by a burn injury. AARBF brings together health care providers, firefighters, emergency workers, burn care professionals, burn survivors and others to enhance the quality of life for burn survivors and to make burn injuries a thing of the past.

Firefighters in Marin and Sonoma Counties support AARBF by participating in the Annual North Bay Firefighters Burn Relay. A large group of emergency response vehicles from throughout Sonoma and Marin Counties drive through a specific route (starting at the Southern Marin Sausalito Station) collecting donations in support of AARBF. Firefighters will be stopping at the Corte Madera Fire Station 14 at approximately 9:20 a.m. to accept $1000 from the Central Marin Firefighters and then will proceed north on Magnolia Avenue as they head to Kentfield.

If you are not already aware, the relay tends to cause a temporary disruption due to the noise and traffic impact. Firefighters have toned down the noise levels on the sirens and will do their best to prevent major chaos on our streets. Many residents are very proud of the efforts of our firefighters to support a really good cause and they enjoy the format of the donation collections.
