[ARCHIVED] Corte Madera Town Band Recruitment

CMTown Band

The The Corte Madera Town Band (in Marin County, CA) was founded in April, 1996, by Corte Madera resident and Band member, Gwyn Lister. The original goal was to play in the Corte Madera/Larkspur Fourth of July Parade, which was only three months away. The Band won first prize in its parade category, and was off and running.

Currently composed of 56 dedicated musicians from 17 Bay Area communities, the Band includes members of all ages from all walks of life. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings from 7:15PM to 9:15PM during the season, which runs from September through early July. Musical repertoire is varied, inspirational, challenging, and fun!

The Corte Madera Town Band performs about ten times each year at local events including the Corte Madera/Larkspur Fourth of July Parade, Corte Madera Octoberfest, several outdoor summer and holiday concerts, and an annual Spring Concert sponsored by the Corte Madera Lions Club. The Band is honored to be supported by the Corte Madera Community Foundation and the Corte Madera Town Council, and to be enthusiastically embraced by many good friends and neighbors in the area.

If you currently play a band instrument, or if you played way back in high school and want to rehearse and perform with an enthusiastic, supportive group, they’d love to hear from you.
