During early March, 2019, registered voters of the Town of Corte Madera received a postcard in the mail giving notice of the approved change in election date for municipal elections.
At the February 5, 2019 Town Council meeting, the Corte Madera Town Council voted to adopt Ordinance 981, which moves the Town’s municipal election from June of even-numbered years, elections from “June of even-numbered years” to the date of the “statewide direct primary.” The ordinance canceled the election scheduled for November 2019 and moved that election to March 3, 2020, the date of the
next statewide direct primary. As a result, the terms of two current members of the Town Council were extended approximately four months.
Please refer to Ordinance 981, An Ordinance of the Town of Corte Madera Amending Title 2 Chapter 2.38 of the Corte Madera Municipal Code, "General Municipal Elections" for more information: Ordinance 981.
