About the Planning Division

The Planning Division is responsible for land use planning, implementation and maintenance of the Zoning Ordinance and General Plan, and facilitating the land use application review process, including staffing for the Planning Commission. 
 
The Planning Division’s primary functions include advising members of the public and the development community regarding zoning codes, application requirements, and land use processes; reviewing and processing applications for land use and development permits; drafting new land use policies and regulations; enforcement of relevant Municipal Codes; and facilitating public education, discussion and comment related to land use matters. Staff also regularly meets with residents, contractors, and developers to mediate issues and resolve problems that arise during the development process.

Planning Division Operations

Staff is available to help you by phone, email or in person, Monday through Thursday, 8:30AM to 4:00PM, and Fridays, from 8:30AM to 12:00PM.  We encourage our applicants to make an appointment with staff during operational hours for more complex and involved questions. What if I have a new or pending Planning application (such as Design Review)?
To submit new planning applications or documents related to an existing planning applications, please contact your assigned planner or any Planning staff member (Planning Staff Directory) to submit electronically.
