Upcoming Municipal Election, June 5, 2018:

The next regularly scheduled General Municipal Election will be held on June 5, 2018, where the voters of the Town of Corte Madera will elect three members to the Town Council (please note that the Town Council also sits as the Board of Directors for Sanitary District #2 - more information on the Sanitary District can be found here).

Resolution No. 63/2017 was adopted by the Town Council at its December 19, 2017 Regular Town Council Meeting, and calls for a municipal election to be held in the Town of Corte Madera on June 5, 2018 for the election of three council members, requests that the Board of Supervisors consolidate the election with any other election occurring on said date, and requests election services by the Marin County Department of Elections.


Nomination Filing Period:


The nomination filing period will open on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 8:00am and will run through 5:00pm on  Friday, March 9, 2018. Should one or more of the three incumbents with expiring terms decide not to file by the close of the filing deadline, the filing period will remain open through 5:00pm on Wednesday, March 14, 2018. 

Relevant Information for the June 5, 2018 Municipal Election:

  • Town Council Staff Report and Resolution No. 63/2017 from the December 19, 2017 regular Town Council meeting calling the election (Calendar of Important Dates included).
  • The Notice of Election will be posted here before February 12, 2018.
  • Candidate binders and related election materials will be available in the Town Clerk's office at Town Hall (300 Tamalpais Drive, Corte Madera) beginning on the first day of the nomination period.  
  • Please call 415-927-5085 or email Rebecca Vaughn, Town Clerk, to request an appointment to review and receive the elections materials.

Register to Vote:


Residents who have moved or changed their name must re-register to be eligible to vote in future elections. Postage-paid, preaddressed registration forms may be obtained from any post office, city/town hall, public library or fire station in Marin County. If you would like to check to see if you are currently registered to vote, you may do so here.


Register to Vote In Person:

Residents may also register to vote in person at the Marin County Registrar of Voters' Office. Office hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The phone number is 415-499-6456, and the fax number is 415-499-6447.  If you have moved or changed your name you must re-register to be eligible to vote in any future elections.
